Position Duties:

Supervise pharmacy personnel and help recruit, promote, and discipline pharmacy staff.  The Pharmacist-in-Charge supervises 3 subordinates, namely: 1 Staff/Junior Pharmacist and 2 Pharmacy Technicians.  Ensure performance standards in accordance with pharmacy job descriptions.  Develop and enforce policies and procedures that promote cost-effective, appropriate, and safe medication use.  Evaluate and counsel pharmacy staff on their performance.  Ensure that patients are assessed for appropriateness of therapy provided by the pharmacy.  Ensure maintenance of adequate medical supply. Ensure strict control and accountability for medications dispensed to patients or otherwise distributed.  Assure adequate control and documentation of controlled substances.  Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Master’s degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences (or equivalent = bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences plus 5 years progressive experience)
2. At least 6 months pharmacy-related experience
3. Must be a registered Pharmacist in the State of California.
